Annual Pantomime

The Panto Committee are responsible for the production of the annual HDOS Pantomime each New Year. Our shows are always lively and colourful with lots of audience participation.....Oh yes they are! A live band, beautiful costumes and spectacular effects along with a full singing and dancing chorus and experienced performers in the Principal roles mean you can rely on having a good time if you come along to watch.

We are always looking for people to help backstage with props, costumes, scenery and technical areas as well as welcoming performers of all ages and experience levels to our auditions. We are also keen to welcome new people onto our Committee.

Our 2024 pantomime will be Dick Whittington at BEAM Hertford.

We are delighted to once again be able to bring Pantomime fun to Hertford's town centre theatre in BEAM. This show is suitable for the whole family and will include all the elements you expect from a traditional Panto including the hero of the title, Dick Whittington, and his feline friend called Tom the Cat.....or is he? We also have a fabulous Dame, Sarah the Cook, and her son Jack.

There will be lots of audience participation and a five-piece band to accompany the lively singing and dancing from our large cast. The script has been written by our own Ian Greenwood, who will ensure that there are plenty of local references and topical gags. And, of course, the Baddie King Rat and his dastardly henchmen will do their best to foil Dick's plans.....oh yes they will! Do come along to find out whether Dick wins both the day and the hand of his love Alice.
